On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, the JMFamily Advocacy program will host a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) session on special education laws. These laws present a complex matrix of legal rights, limits, and procedures.  This course provides an overview of this topic so that attorneys have basic knowledge.

Topics include:
• Basic framework of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
• The meaning of free and appropriate public education, including limits in case law
• Evaluation, identification, and classification of students
• The Individualized Education Program (IEP) for students

CLE begins at 12:00 PM and will conclude at 1:30 PM.  Register online here.
Cost is $45.00 ($30.00 with the commitment to five hours of pro bono service to the Joseph Maley Foundation).
