Board member Eric Schommer shares his “Why JMF?” with his years of involvement with the Foundation as a partner school principal, JMFamily Advocacy panelist, and so much more.
I am a Board member, parent of a Junior Board member, JMFamily Advocacy panelist, school principal that engages in several JMF programs, and event participant of Joseph Maley Foundation because they create a positive impact ripple in our community. The Joseph Maley Foundation develops an environment of education, growth, and support for children as well as adults in our community. As a St. Monica graduate, my daughter has developed a lifelong desire to prioritize high quality treatment of all people through service due to her experiences with disABILITY Awareness, JMFriends, and Junior Board. She has determined that a career in worldwide nursing will help her obtain her goal.
The students at St. Monica develop an understanding of various people and ways to serve through disABILITY Awareness Week, We Step Up, Service Day, and HOPE. They develop a respect for all types of people and feel comfortable in their task to be a high quality and involved citizen.
Joseph Maley Foundation provides the students with the right language to communicate need and support along with the proper actions to engage in his/her community as a person of awareness, concern, and compassion. The programming aligns with our values and school mission while promoting the actions to follow those core ideas. I have been working in the field of education since 1989 and the Joseph Maley Foundation is the premier organization in stringing together all aspects that encompass building a more compassionate advocate of all through our youth.
