JMF’s annual Chili Cook-Off is just days away! We hope you’ll join us for this family-friendly event, and help us serve children of ALL abilities while tasting delicious chili, and helping us crown the 2020 champ. Before the big day (this Saturday, Feb. 8), we’d like to introduce you to just a few of our teams this year. Why have you chosen to participate in the JMF Chili Cook-Off again?
The Chili Cook-off is a fun event and a great way to introduce friends and family to JMF. Inviting friends and family is also a way to “hopefully” get a few extra votes. It is interesting to see all of the creative chili recipes from the contestants and the flavors are as wonderful as they are diverse.
Are you bringing a new recipe to the competition this year?
I am bringing a new recipe this year. I have been lucky to have won several times over the past years and feel like I need to keep things fresh. The new recipe is top secret so I can’t go into details!
Any words for your competition?
Make sure to invite as many friends and family as possible to support the event and to increase your votes. Most of all have fun while you test your skills against the other entries. Don’t forget that table decorations are a great way to get a potential voter’s attention!
Finally, why is YOUR team going to win this year?
I have been accused at times of some trash talk so I will keep this answer short and simple: because that is what I do! Seriously I am taking a big risk this year and with risk comes the possibility of either an epic failure or an epic win. I plan to do my best.

We thought this would be an awesome opportunity to interact with the community and have some fun!

I am most excited to interact with people and try and make someone’s day!
What is your team name – and is there a story behind it?
Our team name is Prestige Worldwide it comes from a movie that we all love!

I cannot wait to have some fun and cook some chili!

We are going to win because we are determined to be CHAMPIONS!

Why have you chosen to in the JMF Chili Cook-Off for the first time?
We chose to join the JMF Chili Cook-Off because here at JMF everyday we positively impact others and serve others. This cook-off is just another way to bring joy into lives through cooking for others while spreading awareness of our mission.
What about this event are you most excited about?
We are most excited about cooking together. We all bring different skills to the table which in turn will be our biggest asset to the competition. We all have different abilities that will strengthen our team atmosphere.
I am most excited to interact with people and try and make someone’s day!
What is your team name – and is there a story behind it?
Our team name is Just Chilin’ – we chose it because it has “chili” in it, and also we found some team accessories that coordinate nicely with it.
Any words for your competition?
Our team’s secret recipe comes from home and the heart! Paired with our tenacious work ethic, we will be a team to watch out for!

Our team is going to win because of our passion, communication, and time management skills. All of which will get us to the finish line to earn that crown!
