Last week, we told you why we think YOU should volunteer for JMF. As a follow up, we’re taking this week to provide you with an updated list of winter and spring volunteer opportunities within each of our programs. Our volunteer needs are constantly evolving, so be sure to check back in before the summer months!


disABILITY Awareness is looking for volunteers to assist staff in implementing curriculum for the following grades: kindergarten, second, fifth, and eighth. Listed below are upcoming schools with a volunteer need:

  • St. Pius X – January 21 and 23
  • St. Richards – January 27, 29, and 30
  • Christ the King – February 3, 4, and 5
  • Geist Elementary – February 5, 6, and 7
  • Maple Grove Elementary – February 10, 11, 13, and 14
  • St. Maria Goretti – February 18, 19, and 20
  • Our Lady of Lourdes – February 24, 25, 26, and 28

disABILITY Awareness programming occurs during the school day, so requires volunteers to be available during these hours.

JMF’s HOPE program is looking for volunteer speakers to aid in facilitating speaking sessions for students and parents across all grade levels.

Speakers are typically health professionals who share their expertise on topics relating to all four pillars of health: mental, social, emotional, and physical. If you fit this criteria, and would like to volunteer for HOPE, please contact Program Manger, Allison Cappella at: allisoncappella@josephmaley.org


Joseph Maley Fitness will hold four more adaptive recreational activities in winter and spring 2020. Volunteers are needed for the following:

  • Adaptive Basketball (March)
  • Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt (April)
  • Spring Adaptive Swimming (May)

Joseph Maley Family Support is always looking for attorney volunteers to work with families on navigating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Attorneys who volunteer with Joseph Maley Family Support are also offered at reduced price for our Continuing Legal Education (CLE) offerings.
